You are right, Justi. We have to appreciate each precious day, each precious moment. We never know when it will end.

"And I am substituting 'Thanks' for 'Please'

When it's time for me to pray." - Elizabeth Smith

if we did not have a calm before "this" storm - when will be "the" storm?
me thinks we ain't seen nothin' yet! jesus said to pray that the end doesn't happen in Winter and heads up for pregnant women... to see L.A. and S.F. crumble to the sea will be REALLY scary not to mention all the other stuff that's been happening... jesus also said when you see these things not to worry... indeed paul said be anxious for nothing let your requests be known to god... just one day at a time... love the ones you're with...  even when they do piss you off...  let not the sun go down on your anger... give no opportunity for the devil... good post, justi.

you are speaking to me, but I am still one to question his existence.  Maybe the idiot who predicted the end of the world as we know it , these tornados is what he meant

Everyday it's something new and horrible, in new places.  I can't keep up with it all.  If one makes a prayer list, it grows and grows and grows.

I thank the Lord for each day.  Each day of our lives is a gift from Him.

Justi - it is truth - you know I cannot imagine.  I've survived many a catastrophe and have never really been without food or roof...I'm thankful - I cannot imagine - and the loss of life - of babes and husbands, wives - Mother's - Fathers...it's tragic - that swift and sudden.

There is a little lady at one of the coffee places I go to - just the other day I went in and while she handed me my coffee she said, "you're so good to me." and I stopped and smiled and asked, "what have I done?" and she just repeated, "you're so good to me" and she said, "I want to thank you for you" - and I wanted to hug her - Well, I actually patted her hand and added, "and yes, I want to thank you as well."  I was told, she had lost a family member to one of the storms recently and she wanted to tell people how thankful she was for all.  It touched my heart.  I believe yes, we should all be more aware of much - life is hard and fast - and more difficult it seems, and the older I get; so you've validated what I am thinking of more lately.  xoxoxo Connie Elyse

While there always have been tragedies taking the lives of the just as well as the unjust, it does seem they're happening more often. The first thing I do each morning is say 'Thank you, God, for another day'.
