I feel that most conspiracy theories are overblown as well. God only knows how much money they have netted.

yes the theories can be crazy, but sometimes they
can get you sucked into the more believable ones

As you say, we have the right to think...and better yet to say...whatever we want in this country, and that is a blessing not allowed to everyone in the world. With that in mind, we can handle the rumors, and believe them or scoff at them as we wish. But I'm sure I saw your president at McDonalds, eating a big Mac.......

Friend of mine once said there weren't three people in the entire
government with the brains to plan out a conspiracy AND the ability to keep their mouths shut about it for more than ten minutes. I'm wondering who put him up to saying that...

Are you sure it is to the hair-dresser you go?
Maybe you are a double agent pretending to go to the hair-dresser
when in truth you are going to an underground bunker planning meeting.

Exactly... the truth is not exciting or dramatic enough...
I don't believe in conspiracy theories because when there are more than two people involved, someone's gonna talk - and these days, make a lot of money talking!

I have followed, with some interest, various Conspiracy Theories re: 9/11. If anything, they make you think.

If they didn't create chaos, the media would soon disapear
People don't watch that stuff to be bored. Only on rare occasion will I ever watch the news. I do read it on the internet on occasion, and of course, hear about it here and there.
The thing about the truth is that we can never really be certain, unless of course we were involved first hand. We just have to take the knowledge that is out there, and try to come to our own conclusions.
I don't much trust the governments or the media for the truth at any time.

Sorry he made a bad judgement call and paid for it. The Communists does sound more fantastic than admitting what probably happened. The aliens would also be good.

Useful rule of thumb to keep things in perspective:
Anyone can say anything. And they do.

It is really funny Kabu that you should mention that president because my husband and I were just taalking about him and that very theory the other night. How strange is that? Good blog as always Kabu. Hope all went well at the hairdressers and Wiley is telling you how truly beautiful you are and how much he loves your hair :)

Very interesting, Dear Kabu..
I had never heard of that particular story/theory. Whenever there are a lot of unanswered questions or mystery to an incident/tragedy, it fuels people's imaginations and can create some pretty bizarre beliefs. And yes, drama sells much better than humdrum explanations..:) Good post!

Now Kabu, We all know PM Holt couldn't swim that far
He was abducted by a secret organization and locked away where Elvis, Jimmmy Hoffa, and other people with names of interest would join him later. ; )

Hi Kabu!
I too am grateful that we can all speak our minds and have our own opinions but I do think some of these fanatical people with their conspiracy theories are often way over the top. Like the 9/11 ones, I mean, come on, an "inside job?" Please.

Interesting! People enjoy sensational news as opposed to plain facts, but sometimes, truth is stranger! Thanks for your comment.

I think he was a communist chinese and after he took all of Australia secrets he had them tattooed all over his body. When he got to the beach that day he pulled his caucasian disguise off and swam back to china tatoos and all (they are not very heavy you know, tatoos)...after all he was a good swimmer right, and he swam in the strong currants that I'll just bet, go directly to china, and it was this information that lost the war in Veit Nam, got Jimmy Carter elected, Noreaga arrested, and won another world series for those darn Yankees.

Very interesting indeed. I do think the public feeds off the bizarre; however, to me the fact that the man may have been candlelight dinner for the sharks is bizarre enough for me. I liked the post a lot. Love ya,
