And a Happy Birthday to you, Kabu! I'd take fresh baked bread (with oodles of butter) before a cake any day!! YUM! You are so right - one does NOT diet on one's birthday! BTW - my pizza crust turned out like your buns. The dog had a hard time even chewing it, LOL!

Kabu - what a coincidence that you wrote this at the same time I got the following email from good friends who are vacationing in Australia:
Now we are stopped in our tracks by “The Wet” – the monsoon rains of the Northern Territory just south of Darwin. Until now, we have faced several rivers that have burst their banks and washed over the road and nothing has managed to stop us but now the road onward is covered by the Katherine river - water 5 feet above the bridge and 200 yards wide. They are ferrying people down the road by boat and onward by bus but we cannot abandon our rental car. No alternative route out so we have cancelled our bookings for the next few days and will rest up here at this old cattle station where we are staying and wait for the water level to drop. At the moment it is still pouring with rain and the water level is rising.
“The Wet” is usually from October through March, but we knew April was iffy …. And it turns out this is the wettest “Wet” in recorded history. In “the wet”, the rivers burst their banks and spread out over the land creating pools and rivers of water everywhere. That’s bad enough but what is worse is that the north is absolutely infested with crocodiles and as the water spreads out everywhere, so do the crocodiles.

I am a horror Kabu I have stopped eating bread, I do this sometimes because It does seem very nice unless one has dairy butter. Wiley's bread sounds like something else. Happy Birthday. I was just forgetting to ask any more vices you indulge in on your birthday?

"Have a very Happy Birthday" and enjoy a few slices of fresh baked bread. In my humble opinion, there is nothing better and it is a delicacy to be enjoyed. Life is enhanced by making more of it and the best of it, a vital concept

Oh YUM!!...:)
I have a neighbor who bakes wonderful bread too; think it is a talent. She gives away loaves for Christmas, I wish it were the season every week just for her bread, haha.. You are so blessed that Wiley has it; well, kind of I guess - it is calorie loaded.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, DEAR KABU!

There is nothing better than homemade bread rising and baking and eating. I really love the thought of Wiley baking bread. Happy, happy birthday to both of you even though one of them is already over.

Such a lovely post. I love good bread. George can do that but rarely does. I am not much of a baker, it is too precise for me. You must share all the good of Wileys birthday to celebrate yours again as he celebrated yours....SO HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO BOTH OF YOU... XOXOXOXOX new windows upgrade will not allow me to use emoticons.
