Re:
You see Cheery We all know the recipe but sadly you are just to young to be let into the secret, personally I like cherry tea or greengage, golden gage in an emergency. Honestly I have forgotten the exact details of brewing. My method would not appeal.  Could you try a pint of cider.

You know ChiffChaff I think she's keeping that plum tea a secret... It sounds nice, and I have asked her about it but nothing. I think it is like one of those recipes like the one in 'One of our dinosaurs is missing' or like the special herb and spice mix that can't be told that belongs to Kentucky fried chicken...  It sounds very tasty, I wouldn't mind a cup myself :)

Re:
I see Shobana I have never eaten peanut sauce although there are a lot of strange Polish foods  in the little shop up on a nearby estate. I don't think we could have afforded such luxuries in the old days especially the sticks,

Re:
Well I am pleased to hear that Taps. I woke this morning and felt that little niggle that wanted me to be depressed . So I had a cup of your famous plum tea with some sunflower seeds in the bottom and I feel brighter myself. Of course it may have been the thought of paying  200 plus pounds sterling for my car licence,

Re:
Well Sam having grown plants and veggies for a living all I see in gardening  books is a reason to spend money. Gardening as such is a hobby, if you want a hobby fine. There is no mystery in rearing a young plant or growing fine flowers even if you have poor soil and are prepared to feed the plants. Also one should grow the those most suitable to one's climate. My old aunt used to grow geraniums in her window and only feed them on week tea. Most sites give advice on the net if you want to grow a particular plant. Once an old man told me that he won all the prizes at the garden shows for his employer who was a bit of a toff. 'I used a secret remedy ,' he said. 'What was it? 'I asked 'Ha ha, it wouldn't be a secret then.' he said. I was annoyed, but I thought after that was probably a gruesome mix of pigs pee from the pig hole and the latrine bucket. He might have added a bit of soot. They did not have growmore fertilizers in those days. Happy gardening

They entice with free gifts and I have to chuckle but some of the hints looked worth getting! Do you do much with gardening secrets in the offers? sam
