Being more environmentally friendly is definitely the best option to help everyone now and in the longrun. :) Being self sufficient is a good thing to build up to if you can do it.

You hit the nail on the head, Kabu. We need to become more self sufficient, and ordinary folks have to make it a joint effort. It's called fighting back.

Very good tips!
Also, walking, bicycling or using public transportation if you are able.
Unfortunately not available to me, but for many out there it is a good option.
I wish there were much more we can do. We are helpless in so many ways to those that control everything.

Kabu, yes there are some very real and practical ways to fight back....
I remember those days in the 70's - prices soared in North America, too...thinking back, those were the days that ended 60 cents a gallon for gas (we hadn't gone metric yet)..

The nutritious, healthy food is most expensive.
Guess we'll have to go back to canning fruit at harvest time & letting the $4 a pound tomatoes just stay in the produce aisle. Canned tomatoes are better for is anyway...

$2.99 / lb here for tomatoes!!!! Its ridiculous... I usually do grow my own but the plants do not always have :-( and I got to have my Caprese salad! loll Anyway... this too shall pass, Things always go up and down... the problem is that the "down" always stays a little higher than before it started going up loll The life of the farm is what we need... baking our own bread, milking our cow and making cheese and butter by hand... my grandmama used to do it in France... Why not we here? I tell you why, we ( I) are too spoiled. Be well darling and do not mess with Mr. Graysome loll xoxoxo

Last night on the news there was a woman who said a few years back when the gas started to go up that people decided to fight back and not drive that much, the gas prices went down. But it cant happen over night and there has to be a conscientious effort on all people. We have the highest price of gas here in CA because of all the compounds that are used to clear up the smog and air pollution. Some places its $4.79 and higher. I dont drive that much but do need gas soon but I will get it now before it jumps more
