It's terrible the deception that is going on with that situation. It makes my skin craw to see ethics violated in such a way.

It must be different in America. In England you don't get sick pay for very many weeks then you have to apply for sick pay from the government and you get £50 per week to live on. It isn't something  that a teacher in England would do to get out of work. After a few months they then have to undergo a complete medical and if you aren't dieing you get kicked off it ha ha. It sounds bad if they get to be sick for three months  in America on full pay, but then I don't know the circumstances.

Well Justi I think everything needs a good shake when one sees heads of small councils being rewarded or being give more wages than the Prime Minister, it just makes one wonder

I haven't been able to keep up with the news lately, but now you've aprked my interest. I'll go read up on it, then come back. ANd yes, you say what you think - a good thing - we always know where we stand. Love honesty!!

Good for you! You stand up and I stand with you! It's times like these, my dear, that the world sees who are the problem makers and then who are the problem solvers! You are definitely a problem solver! Full speed a head! Dig in those heels!

Yeah Justi... tell us what you really think !!!  :-)  loll... DArling, you always do!  and I for one appreciate your honesty and passion.  I agree 100% that teachers, of all people, should not lie and accept a boggus pass.  They must teach with their example and what message does that send to our children?  "Do what ever it takes to get away with whatever you can?" I would fire any teachers that present those vouchers and prosecute the Dr.s that issued them.  On the other hand teachers do not have it as good as you seem to think they do... I know several teachers and they are overworked and disrespected ,  none of them gets as much as what you mention, as a matter of fact their salaries are more in the 50.000s and whether its true that they have the summers off  from their regular jobs they do not get paid those three months so most of them have second jobs to suplement their income.  Those we saw protesting are a minority... and as usual a loud minority.  The majority of teachers are decent, hard working individuals that love what they do...and try to do it to the best of their ability with the lousy tools we give them.  Be well my friend  xoxoxo

Re: Sam
I agree with you that change needs to come about and some of them need to go! Also, I did not mean for my amazing facts to be funny, I just didn't have a place to put them! I have put a disclaimer at the bottom so I thank you for your input! sam

Sam
I am sure you were a good teacher. There are a lot of them. This is not a good sign of that. We have a daughter and a son in law who are teachers. They have a child and she is a Christian. I can't say how they would act if this came to their state; however, I would condemn their doing the things these teachers are doing that I have spoken of. This is not about dissing all teachers and doctors just those who are letting down their responsibilities. Yes this sort of thing happens in everything. It is not good for peace, safety or the economy of our country at large. I do appreciate your comment.

When I worked in education I put in 16 hour days for 10 and half months so I always felt I earned my six weeks off! Plus, during the course of my career I gave 4 years free wage as it were wrapped up in meetings that were beyond the normal work day! So some really try to make a difference and others slide! I venture a guess it occurs in a lot of businesses! Education needs help but its needs more parental involvement! After elementary school the involvement of parent drops dramatically and by high school it's like pulling teeth to get them there for conferences! Just a few humble thoughts! It takes a village so to speak to get the children raised, so it would behoove us all to get more involved in a positive aspect! sam

I am with you, what is going on in Wisconsin is dreadful. How can any parent want these teachers to teach their children, and how can these doctors be trusted. I believe that the time for vouchers has come. What the educational system in this country needs is good old fashion competition.
