We use the fax often in our office too, FSI. Bet your dad is happy that you can use it again! Oh - and Cricket sends you a hug!

FSI
And here I thought the fax machine went out with the quill! Goes to show you what I know! Mind you, I have this fax machine sitting here, and I don't think I've used it in about a year! I don't even get spam faxes any longer!

They can be quite fun to use. :) And of course very useful.

I once knew how to send a fax, but no longer! Email every time for me.

I love it when we get a break and costs go down! I had to relearn how to fax myself. I think I am the other way. Depending on how big the fax, I would prefer to fax it then send as an attachment via e-mail!

A lot of our documents are sent and received by fax FSI - quite a handy machine I should say.

Faxing is a big part of my wives business, and was of mine too. It is good for things like purchase order, invoices and the such. What I need to do is learn how to text. If someone was to ask me to text something I would be lost.

Faxing was a big thing in the healthcare business when I was a nurse.  Always something needed to be faxed to doctors' offices, pharmacies, labs, etc.  I don't think I've used one since I retired.  I probably would have to be shown again how to use one.

fax machines and copiers are great machines....
when they don't jam up on you or take forever to "do their thing"...I'll get a taste of faxes and copies again this week in a little bit of "fill-in" work.....(I just hope nothing jams up.....)

I remember when faxes first arrived in the UK
We used to use a device called an acoustic coupler where the 'phone was placed in a sort of cradle. When the printout first came out of the back of the machine it seemed like a miracle!!

It is always a good thing when you learn a new skill that can be used elsewhere or in the future.

How cool to be able to use it to the company's benefit so soon! I have one of those types of copiers and I am now inspired to look at the manual to see how to operate it! So thanks very much! sam

Well FS I worked for a while in a factory at the week ends and I used to marvel at the fax machines. there were rolls and rolls all over the floor. I don't know if they were ever replied to, but they kept being churned out.

when people started getting fax machines in their homes I wondered why, but I have one of those machines that have the fax and I have used mine a lot to show proof of something, or get a house loan etc.
