Excellent connections, Dear Kabu!
Such lovely writing; I'm very glad you found the change your heart and soul were ready to embrace and I too wish the people of Egypt all the best.

It is so sad to read this.  It hits home in many ways.  It is hard to leave something beloved for something strange and hard.  I am glad you found a good place to go.  Home is truly where the heart is. I hope Egypt will find a home they want too.

It is very nice from you to think about the people of Egypt. They sure deserve to taste freedom and democracy like all other civilized societies. I hope they will keep this revolution alive and stay at the right tract.

A really moving post, Kabu. I see you as that young girl, newly married, leaving home for the first time and such a long way away. And I agree, good luck, Egypt.

Wonderful post!  What an excitingly difficult life you have led.  No wonder you have so many things to write about that interests everyone immensely.  Nothing at all boring about you.  And, yes, I'm sure that you have empathy for the people of Egypt at this time.

Kabu
Of course I too wish them 'Good Luclk', they'll need it! Once the euphoria has died down, we'll begin to see the real consequences of this 'democratic revolution'...

Egypt will soon be run by Hamas
I have said it since the first day of this so craziiness and I pray I am wrong, but I have not been that wrong yet, so in a few days you will watch Egypt unfold into a new Iran

I wish them well though as Naut and UtahJay's stats show things could get very ugly.

I am praying for the people of Eygpt too Grandmummy.  May God protect them and may their situation remain peaceful.  In His name...Amen.

I can remember being driven away and looking back at my favorite childhood home too...and how lost and wary I felt. A great post, Kabu.

I'm with you, Kabu! Let's hear it for the people of Egypt,
who took the notion of peaceful revolution to a whole new level. Now let's hope they get new leaders elected who will be motivated to ensure freedom and justice and all the benefits of democracy.  Loved your description of the land down under. It seems so much like the American west with its arid spaces and wide horizons.

Kabu, that last look back must have been heartbreaking indeed....
As for Egypt, I don't know what started the whole thing off, but now that Mubarak is out, hopefully, prayerfully, things will settle down.....

Yes you are really nice sometimes Kabu. Wouldn't that land have been something if one had income independantly. I always remember being offered Woodland at 50 an acre but let it go and now it is covered with houses.
