Thank you everyone I'll just give you the details sixty years ago it was bought for my brotherwho was about 4years old the problem was we lived on a smallholding and beyond the door was a rough road and grass. So the only galloping area was across the kitchen. The idea was that the child more or less stood down on the pedals and this moved the back legs forward pushing the toy along. It is like one of those things that have been lyimg around for years, I suppose it could be repainted, but I might take it to the local museum, one day. .
