I didn't even know you guys had a two-dollar bill - I have certainly never seen one. We used to have them, but now we don't even have one-dollar bills anymore. All we have now is coins - 'loonies' ($1), because there's a loon on it, and 'twonies' ($2)...

I think there are not many to go around
And many people keep them once they get them

England has a two pound coin and I don't think much of it myself. I think it was created to help people who ended up with lots of pound coins in their change :) But I think they are heavy anyway. No where has spaces for two pound coins. If you need a trolly at the supermarket they make you put a pound coin in it to push it around and then you get it back and I think slots everywhere are geared for one pound not two. So I guess it is the same in America as you have just said. Good point made. :)

I think the $2 bill is a novelty and people save it then when time calls they spend them! I rarely see them, too! sam

You know FSI - I just found a 2 dollar bill that we had saved...and I simply went and had a burger so I could give it to another.  I think yes, I don't see the 2 dollar bill often.  Elyse

F

w I bet that most businesses don’t take them. Mass transit gives gold dollar coin change. Their bus fare meters accept them. BC-A, Bill’s R®st

I have one of last two dollar Canadian bills in my desk as a memento.

In Australia, we don't have one or two cent coins....nor do we have one or

two dollar notes...Those are coins, same as here in Canada.

I find your notes in the USA...all a bit confusing and have to watch the money very carefully not to give a bigger note than I meant to.

I understand one problem is
they get confused for 20s if you don't look closely

FSI, Canada pulled all the two dollar bills out of circulation
a few years back and replaced it with a two dollar coin we call the Toonie (or TWONIE).....and we have our one dollar coin, the Loonie (has a pic of a loon on it)...I think I might have put a two dollar bill and a one dollar bill aside in my very small coin collection when they phased them out....

I never understood the reasoning for printing two dollar bills
I didn't know that about cash registers; learned something new today!..:) Thanks, FSI.

I remember having several 2 dollar bills at one time.
I think I had to use them during hard times in my
first marriage.

Yes well I have loads of coins  that are out of circulation F.S Shillings, Half crowns, sixpences an old tenshilling note Farthings were around when there were 240 pennies to the pound each worth a quarter of a penny your dollar used to be used by an old trader as value five shillings. OK I won't bore you, have a packet of pins, used to be given instead of a farthing sometimes.
