well written ChCh ~ little 'scientists' in the making here. Taxidermists at least.
Actually, I was gifted a 22 birdshot rifle one year --- by an area hunter - He thought I had a very good aim (with skeet moreso) and we went to hunt for some partridge. I was face to face with 2 of the beautiful birds and I told them, "woosh - shoosh - fly away". I had to walk away. E.E.

As a youngster I did not appreciate nature myself. Over the last few years that view has changed.

Death and destruction every where what was a bird? Although we never potted at anything but sparrows and starlings being ugly they dod not feel pain.
