when I read this poem all I could think about was how hard one worked to make a day's pay in a fair way and with good products as opposed to today's flavor of get it done, get paid attitude! When a day's worth of work was exactly that! sam

I was engrossed, mesmerized by your sharing this bit of history and I am like Kabu here, salivating just about when you spoke of opening that crate, ChCh... I believe I crooked my neck to see the imagery here as you wrote. WOW ~ I can't imagine the hardship - the cold and the rains - living this life was hard yes I imagine...risky, grueling and also, a thankless job. I hope you share more. E.E.
