Perhaps he went for a massage at a 4 star hotel
did you check your phone records for last call.  He might have made travel plans with travelocity for a warmer climate.  Did he have on a red hat?  I saw several Gnomes in Mexico on the beach outside Fat Tuesdays when we were drinking Marguritas in Cozamel.

I'll say magic. That was the first thing that popped into my mind.

A big clever elf slipped in and kidnapped him.  Don't be surprised if he hits you up for a ransom.

Well Kabu you have made one of the commonest mistakes it wasn't a gnome it was an an elf. Obviously as soon as he chilled out he wouldn't be able to stay with you, did you look outside? Perhaps open the door, I'm sure he left as soon as Wiley came in they are alright if they keep on the move, I always provide little elf boxes on the warmest side of the house, but I think most migrate to sunny climes. Stick to Gnomes Kabu they can tough it out, but are a bit thick compared to elves. Sorry to have tell you that, have a fairy cake.Still friends I hope.

maybe he and Mr. Graysome just decided to have a play....
I've never known a cat to eat a gnome ... maybe bat him around a little, or hide him somewhere...or maybe he needed to use the litter box........

Kabu
Oh boy, Sinome might be right - it's quite possible Mr. G. ate him! No, I didn't mean the big Mr. G., I meant the little one, the one with a tail...Oh, forget it, LOL! In any case, before I would accuse either of them, I would have someone inspect the heating ducts...

hmmm ... perhaps your little friend  was so  mesmerized by yours and Wileys love, not having had ever seen such beautiful feelings... that  he decided to stay behind when his friends left for Aussy land... not being able to part himself from witnessing such a miracle... The cold came as with loving eyes he watched you guys  and his itsy bitty heart slowly froze, leaving him unable to render himself invisible...Just as he was about to turn into ice... there you were to rescue him .  When you placed him in the den, another miracle was made for him as he came back to life, thawed both by the heat coming from the vent and the warmth of your heart.  Wanting to keep his magic secret  he probably went to hide somewhere ... maybe under your bed  ,  waiting for the night so that he could come out without being seen and again witness the wonder of your love. ... yeah...  that or Mr. Graysome ate him  loll... xoxoxo
