Son will cook the Christmas turkey and vegetables in that contraption
he will love doing it between dips in the pool and working the 'fridge door handle...and little wifey can enjoy the day without a hot kitchen. Thanks for enjoying the post.

Kabu, yep, there's the modern "campfire" we call a barbecue.....
It can do almost anything, but there's just something missing between it and a real campfire...maybe its just the outdoorsy atmosphere....I think they both have their rightful places in "modern" living..

I still think fondly of camp stew cooked over an open fire
or a Coleman stove. Many's a weekend camping trip we came home with kids smelling of smoke, scratching at fresh poison ivy blisters, wild adventures and imagined sightings of cougars and bears...

I always wanted to know what a billabong was Kabu . I won't tell you what we roasted once as kids. It makes me feel queasy to think of it. Yes more fun in the old days dirt was cleaner.

Very impressive BBQ! I can see there's so much more now, but I still have the impression that somehow there's less...

Wowie!!!! That is some BBQ love. The idea of a wood burning one sounds just the thing love and I loved the lexicon to help us out. I had never heard of 'long necks' but 43 years ago I put away a lot of quarts.

ohhh, Kabu - the good ole days! Though Long Necks are not an Aussie invention - we drank them all the time in Texas shit-kicker bars.....Mal
