Kabu
As so often, I'm just catching up here...These 'acts of God' as they're sometimes called can be terribly devastating, and I certainly hope things will improve soon...

How I love the way my Blogit friends all rally to each other with comfort
in words when we worry.....I am sure Australia needed this rain to clean the water ways that were almost dry...and people will build houses in flood areas .....there are always troubles worse somewhere else and that is what I keep reminding myself.

Australian Nine News ...My poor country...
Yes our family in Australia are not affected by it I am glad to say. It's bad that's for sure. As Australian's ourselves we are glad we aren't in the floods there ourselves.

Kabu, Nature seems to be on the rampage in so many ways...

and worldwide - flooding, record snowfalls, winds close to hurricane force.....

hoping and praying for the Australian situation....

God help them all dear Kabu - Floods are very frightening - the damage in their wake takes years to mend from.  I'm glad M is safe.  xoxoxo C Elyse

The weather can cause havoc with Mother Nature in charge..
Given what you know about the things humans are in charge of, aren't you thankful some of our "leaders" do not control the weather?  I hope everyone's okay in Wagga Wagga and its environs.

shocking news
but a timely reminder that we are not in control and never have been. Hope your family are able to stay clear of this awful devastation.

Mother Nature can be a powerful force, and man has not yet learned to control her. But as CC said, at least people can be warned now, so the destruction should not includ loss of human life. I'm happy your family is outside the danger area. Loved your post about the letters from the grandchildren - I'M sure they made your heart sing!

Yes such a shame Kabu, but who would have heard of these tragedies a few years ago at least lives can be saved. Do you know once before everyone had telephones which isn't really long ago, we never had a phone in the house. A mighty storm hit a seaside resort and moved along the coast devastating communities because no one phoned up the next victim to tell them that the storm was moving towards them. I remember this because my brother said two men where he worked were called to help in sorting the wreckage.
