The only thing I've ever seen, besides miscellaneous words is "Where's George"

People tend to write on it over here ha ha. I have seen them do math on it or write phone numbers on it ha ha.

Rather inventive, but I've never seen any of that.

I don't handle much currency any more but I do remember people used to write all over bills. It is illegal but.... I don't remember seeing them in waves like you were talking about. It must be more prevalent now than when I had store fronts. Be blessed.

Hi FSI, Growing up, my grandfather would send us a $2 bill sometimes.
He would write his name in cursive on the bill. I found one of those bills recently. My grandfather is 94 now and has dementia. Today I treasure those bills and the wonderful memories that I have of my grandfather.

I saw a long shopping list
covering a £5 note once and which £5 would never have covered

when my wife worked for a Canadian bank....
actually counting the money, the money received from the casino was always wrapped, thank God! They would find everything from semen to traces of drug powder, blood spots and brown spots..
..I'm not kidding! She is standing here telling me this as I type it...
Anything that looked tainted by drug powder would go directly to the police for analysis.....

I think this might be an American thing, FSI. I can't remember ever seeing anything written on an English note.

I haven't seen much of that since I rarely get to see bills these days, since I pay everything with debit cards or credit cards. But one year a friend of mine had a stamp made with a raised middle finger - I'm sure you've seen it, LOL - for the sole purpose of stamping the cheque he had to send to the tax man in Ottawa...

at my job we have a machine which you are probably familiar with, that we put the 20's,100's and 50's to make sure they are not counterfeit but sometimes the violet light shows up strange things

Well FS all I have seen is ink marks. I think they are pulled quickly if defaced if I get an inky one or a dirty one I try and spend it with the shop that has passed it to me and mention it at the same time.

you can't write on Australian or Canadian bills...they are made of
stuff that is more difficult to conterfeit and can't be defaced at all.

I would love to see one that says "I grow hemp"! I think that is one of the funniest ones I've heard! I have never seen anything that was other than a bunch of meaningless numbers! I use a debit card and so I don't handle cash much! But, this post makes me want to see more of the green! sam

I've seen a lot of that done, too...I think sometimes people do that to
see if the bill returns to them some day, some how and they'll recognize it
