Love your writings, FSI - so thoughtful and I am glad you have this relationship and understanding with your Daddy - ah, life may bring changes so I feel, it's no use in looking for them.  (however I think you'd make a good Prof.) Elyse

Good to be settled for the moment, but able to move on when you feel ready.

I think it's a good decision you've made.
Making enough to get by on and the fact that you really like the work you do is major.

Being in a job I hated for years and years, just so I could make an extra quarter to fifty cents an hour, did a LOT of damage to me from all the stress from what was "expected" of me.

I often wonder if things would be different now if I had gone for less money but doing something that was a much slower pace and might actually enjoy.

I like this practical mind-wandering about the future

Yes, keep your options open
none of us know what might be just around the corner. In the meantime I'm sure your Dad will love having you there for as long as possible

FSI
It's wise to leave all options open for as long as possible...

You are such a level headed individual FSI, good thinking there.

FSI
I love that you are not closing any door but also allowing all doors to remain open.

FSI
One Day At A Time the way you're going seems the best to me my friend. Enjoy every day of the present and let God take care of the future.

I like how you are able now to be flexible...even though today you are
settled....but today of course there is finishing the semester, may be you will feel the need to continue with another post Grad. course.

A good answer FS. who knows in time cars may not need washing. We are all very fixed in the present. Once my Dad said never give up the Kerosine or paraffin as we called it but folk stopped using it. I have had several jobs which I thought would see me out, but circumstances change more quickly than we would imagine. As long as you are happy with your work that's the cutting edge, As a matter of interest a car wash has opened locally 4 personal with buckets and squeezies etc in a garage all attack the car at once, probably Polish. It will be a bit cold when it freezes, but cars were waitng for this service. The novelty I expect and shortage of jobs.

I've often thought about you taking over the business, somehow it just seemed natural for me! You have done a fine job with handling your life! You have a home and a job you are most comfortable with this at this juncture in your life! You don't jump at things, but think them through and of the people I've known in my life you make me smile and I am very proud of you! I've watched you grow up on Blogit so to speak and you carry yourself with great dignity! You will always be successful no matter where you are in my humble opinion! A son any parent would be mighty proud of, mighty proud! sam
