I'm not surprised you fit in so well
with these wonderful souls. We have a monthly Farmers' market in our village and Susan and I adore it.

You bring to life so many wonderful people. When it comes to seasonal things like Farmers Market this winter goodbyes can be so difficult.

Kabu
You are so right our countries were built on hard work, farming of one sort or another, good values and steadfastness. Yes that is the last of open market sales until April. I will have to rely on mail orders and my local few customers. I am not accepted in stores because I don't have nutrition facts on the jars. The software is too expensive; however, I am certified to sell in the farmer's markets, stalls anywhere and mail order where the agreement is between me an another that the information is sufficient. My goods are really healthy as far as compared to mass produced. I put so much herbs and spices in most things that there is little or no need for salt. I use low fat oils and in any case I can. Local friends buy them for themselves and as gifts. Sorry to write so much, love you, be blessed.

what a wonderful post darling and yes, these poeple are real what our
countries were built on I believe. and now people have almost forgotten......but enough fromme....I am glad that these people can still be independent ....I can'timagine me having the stamina to do what you or they still do. Now what is it for you, do you take a rest as well?

Lovely Justi this is a true Farmers Market. We have them here but some are not really growers or like yourself producers, but buy stuff from elsewhere and have no idea what freshly pulled veg looks like. no good sticking organic on it if it is all shriveled. I agree with you pioneers in their own right. Where are the next ones coming from.?

Your story about the Farmer's Market and the elderly  vendor was great.  The work they do is what keeps them young.

You bless me so. If I can do two things, one is make people feel good about mankind and the other is like your daughter did; fight or at least encourage others to ward off anything that hampers the beauty of our freedom in this country. Well if I am not careful I will add amounts to this but I would like to get rid of Political Correctness; that ties down ones personal freedom of creativity. I am so glad it touched you in a good way. Love,

Most thoughtful blog comments on the Value of Age - history and 'salt of the earth' Humanity.  Beautiful blog here Justi.  I know you will miss them.  I tell you, when I'm aching and not feeling so well, I look around me in my community and notice the 80+ elders doing what they do and I do NOT complain then (as much or try not to...) - My daughter once headed a community Farmers Market in a small city in Washington.  That was one of the best experiences of her life.  Now, the community and board of the city - sadly - shut this down after many years because of this and that and restructuring policies etc.  My daughter fought and she fought and their law fees got out of hand --- all in all - God bless you.  The experience alone here that you share has simply left me feeling 'good' about Life and God and Humanity - see what your Tapestry weaves, Justi?  xoxoxx Elyse  (this touched me)
