Hi EE. there is a strain of primroses that stand quite well here. Once when I sold plants I grew over one hundred ornimental cabbages in pots and didn't sell one so I am a bit biased about those I hope the pigeons don't nip them if they stick up out of the snow. Wanda I just thought of the name of the primroses an older variety, but I don't know how far down your temperature goes.

Is that a grouping of these or did they triple up, CC ? I like the color, it's more fushcia? or would they be a dark pink or red...I just ADORE these. And so I assume that these grow in cooler temps, like carnations right? (going at one point tomorrow to gather the rosebuds (or pansies and winter flowers) at the nursery yard and I'm going to search out the ones that will withstand the cold here. I know pansies will as well as some snaps --- some ornamental cabbages . E.E.
