It has happened in a small town near here, FSI, but accidently - not harsh words and being rude and driving away. The client paid, walked out of the garage, and never noticed the attendant, who was serving another car, had forgotten to take the hose part from the car. There were no cigarettes involved, and I'm not sure who paid for the damage, but I do know we all got a good laugh from the event!

How frightening! I couldn't help but think they should have paid the labor cost! It amazes me that people would take their own lives in their misguided hands around flammables! Just insanity! I am with you, I would have stayed away from the confab as it were! sam

WOW ~ what a very scary incident. I am glad all turned out okay but, certainly I think a fine should be enforced. This is so dangerous...Glad you're okay as well and glad you're back from your jaunt. Elyse

This sounds like ALL IN A DAY's TIME kind of story....too good to be true,
and to finish so smoothly, except as you say that if you pass off such a thing lightly, the danger lurks...so how are you going to address that lurking danger?

Re: FSI, oh my, you have had a couple of interesting situations
That's a good question and one that I am not sure the answer of. Thankfully everyone that has done that sort of thing has done it when the pump has stopped.

FSI, oh my, you have had a couple of interesting situations
to deal with!..

.I've often wondered, and it must be my insurance background, if a customer pulls out without replacing the pump in its holder, does the tank automatically shut down? I would think it does or there would be gas and sparks everywhere - not a good combination....
