Enjoy your drives by the lake and your friend was smart to see his house and property in the right frame of mind.

I love it that you are so into your new routes! I think it is great for the brain to be involved with other routes, too! I think it would be fantastic to drive by a lake on a daily basis1 Too funny on your Dad responding to someone else while talking to your Mom! I bet she was taken aback at first! And, it was a smart to lay people off at the most opportune time to keep the business bottom line as healthy as possible! How are you liking your new home? sam

I can't settle on which section to respond to, so I will just say that it was all interesting. Personally, I liked the part about driving a new way to work and enjoying the folliage and the lake. That really jumped out at me.

There is a slump worldwide - its true. Even over here business is slow what with the economy the way it is.. but don't worry it will catch up. Thanks so much for the visit FSI.

Your business is at least predictable. You know when it will be slow and such. The car business used to be that way too, not so much anymore. You and your dad have been doing this long enough to know that you put something away for when times are slow. It will pick up again.

would love to see somepictures of your drives to work
and keep enjoying the summer days even if it is quiet at work. Remember how long and cold last winter was for you? It was worse where you live than here in North Ontario.

Things will turn again
and I'm sure the global economy will hit a sustained upward cycle. In the meantime, that lake sounds lovely

I think it is pretty tough everywhere FS in fact I saw a discount store only this morning had an advert. car washed for 10 pounds now when one can pay fifteen for a haircut if they use black towels, it seemed cheap. It seemed a bit naughty though as the garage just below has been car washing for ten years. Of course in the past no one would have dreamt of doing such a thing, but is all so cut throat these days and it looks like getting worse once inflation comes out into the open. One just has to stick it out and have a bit of luck.

It sounds like your life is cautiously optimistic, the car wash a bit slow, but the new flat really suiting you (I love your description of your route to work).
