I married young the first time too.
I was 19 and tried to make the best of it for 21 years but I knew there was another out there for me. I learned some very good ignoring skillsLOL.When I met Richard I knew, that I knew, that I knew I was with my real soulmate and that I was to help him to enlightenment for transition. This past year I have been lost since my task was over. So now I need to find me.

Wonderfully written Kabu... I too was married too young, ( 18) but I did love keeping my house and the garden was my heaven ... I am still married to the same guy :-) and though we have gone through rough patches I would do it all over again... Life is funny isn't it and you are right, there are many hats one has to wear to survive :-) xoxoxo

I like you reference to hats.....
with the coming of the internet....I've thought more and more about the masks people wear......the crafted personas assumed by those moving through the electronic hallways called the web!

Your early years sound wonderful, your mother thoughtful. I can see how plain housework and gardening could be a shock at first after that. You do seem to have a gift for storytelling.

Wonderful work, Dear Kabu!
When looking back on our past evokes more fondness than regret, then it is truly a worthwhile endeavor. You are there, not sure if I am for myself yet, but I am patient..:) Thank you for writing, Friend.

Re: myself
I never would have guessed that there was a time that you did not like gardening.

Taps's Perplexities is a blog I never miss either...It's interesting how times change. Not marrying young was seen as strange. Now people think that marrying young is a recipe for divorce...I never would have guessed that you did not like gardening.

Whatever happened in your life to make you who you are, Kabu, it was a roaring success! What's more, you have the talent required to grab our interest as you write about it. Double kudos!

I was married at 20, old for those days, but I must of lived my life with my head buried in the sand. I too hated house work and never took to gardening until this past year. But it lasted for 20 years and then all hell broke loose.

Oh dear Kabu I felt like a piece of paper with scorch marks over me. I'll tell you because I like to keep things secret. Well we know who you are test passed. Well done.

It's funny how one can be perceptive when looking back, or when looking at another.
It is quite another thing to be objective about ourselves at the present moment. Loved reading this post. Keep going.
