Yeah, there is something relaxing about watering...I like the clever ending.

If the egg was in the chilly water for very long, it won't be viable.
But if it were put out at the edge of the yard, some little raccoon or possum would have a nice lunch. Let's hope Mrs. Robin got back to her nest in time to lay the next one.

Rockin' Robin

{ On a wonderful day like yesterday I had a soft n’ sassy listening experience by traffic love. I heard a robin, singing at the bus stop of a busy intersection. BC-A, Bill’s RJLst

"...it's like washing dishes, a time to relax and dream".
I absolutely agree with this line Kabu! I always find myself daydreaming, hoping and wishing while doing the dishes. I think that explains why there are a few cups missing in the kitchen. I broke them!

What a shame you didn't put your thumb by it Kabu to show the size, what we called hedge sparrows lay a clear blue egg and a cuckoo will sometimes lay when it cannot find a suitable nest, but I don't know what birds frequent your area. I can't remember, but by think starlings lay a blue egg. It is awful really we used to have large collections of birds eggs and knew them all off by heart.

I guess our robin season is a little ahead of yours.  Mama has already pushed her young out of the nest and yesterday two of the siblings were hopping around squawking and pecking at each other, fighting over something--probably a worm.  Our ground is very damp from daily rain this week.  Just the kind of wetness that draws the worms to the top.

I can't be SURE 'cause of color shift, but it doesn't look robin's egg blue
Several other birds also lay blue eggs, but the color isn't exactly what I think of, as Robin's egg blue. I suspect that the egg has died from being submerged  for hours in water, but if it wasn't under water for long, it may still be viable. Now, if you could just find a nest that contains newly laid eggs, and add this one, it MIGHT actually hatch, I suppose. Good luck to you and the egg. It sure feels good when things can turn out, for the good.

I always loved to find eggs, but it's even more special when it's not from a chicken!

How lovely to find that darling Kabu, an egg brings so much promise to life I must say. Thanks so much for stopping by. Glad you liked the poem.

Kabuiepie-;)
It is a Robin's egg, tell Sinome they are blue in Canada and all that bathes in our bath are robins and  thanks for keeping it warm and maybe it'll hatch like Sinome's dad did with his duck egg.

loll Kabu... I don't think anyone was going to suggest you laid an egg   loll... Its not a Robin egg I wonder who laid it... Are you going to try and save it?  Its not hard... you just keep it warm and moist and away from Mr. Graysome  loll  My dad found two duck eggs abandoned on his place up state New York and took care of them until one of them hatched.  ( the other one didn't :-(  ) He used to feed that duckling by hand until it was big enough to feed for himself.  He cried when he set him free...  Let us know if you are going to keep it :-)  xoxoxo
