Family stories are wonderful
and in telling them we begin to gain a whole new understanding of people in our families and our relationships - good and bad.

I look forward to reading about your family tales. People are so interesting, and I imagine that you will bring a lot of those interesting people to life on this blog.

One of those skeleton-in-a-closet stories haunts my family on my dad's side. One of dad's cousins (poor thing) was shunned by everyone (and it wasn't his fault) because his father was also his grandpa, and his sister was his mother, and his other sister was his niece, and his father's wife was his grandma who ended up raising him so he called her mama. My dad wouldn't even talk about it, so I didn't know he existed until I met him at my grandma's funeral. My grandma was his grandpa/father's sister and his mother/sister was my grandma's niece.
