ok so it's true
how long has this been on the books? gotta look -- if it's a decades long item, then we can't blame anyone in present affairs.
Also, I see this as protecting people -- regular common people who just might want to be counted in the census and landlords somehow not wanting that. It doesn't bother regular people or private homeowners, just owners of rental property -- remember the idea of the census is to count people, and people getting in the way of the process can be a problem and this is a method of dealing with possible obstruction of the process.

okay then -- again -- I hope you are standing up for the rights you express in your post -- don't answer the census and don't talk to a census taker and don't let anyone in your door -- block the door and have your firearm ready. Make sure they have to come with cops or the National Guard (remember to tell them how much you appreciate their serving their country as that happens) and bust down your door.
But sure as hell don't fill out that damn intrusive census that you hate!

When asked about race I wrote in "Human"....I could care less if they counted me or not...you're just worried that you might lose your gubamint check.
