- Go to Taxi...Harry Chapin...The Story Teller
What a huge loss to the music world, his death was!
Harry had a brother who I saw only once, a guest musician on Sesame Street. Wonder what became of him? I also wonder about the guitar player who sang such pure, eerie falsetto on this song. Great storytellers are sadly passe' in today's jaded music scene, it seems to me. I think that rap music (?) narration, killed off the ballad type storytelling forever, in American music. How very sad for us all. Never again will the likes of Harry Chapin, Jim Croce, Bob Seeger, James Taylor, Jackson Browne, and many folk song singers, give us such deep, moving subjects to consider, as we sit listening, carefully trying to absorb every single word, enraptured. Our very tragic loss.
If we ever lose the Blues, there won't be any reason to listen to new music, on the radio.
