Re: Anzac Day
CORNCRAKE somehow Anzac HAS BECOME MORE FOR AUSTRALIANS....I THINK IT WAS OR IS NOW THE DEFINING MOMENT WHEN WE STOPPED BEING A GROUP OF ENGLISH COLONIES AND BECAME A NATION.

Re: I believe Anzac day is the same as Veteran's Day (Nov. 11)
Pat_B I have always believed that was why we had Veterans, or Remembrance day...to honour the men and women.

I believe Anzac day is the same as Veteran's Day (Nov. 11)
that we observe in the U.S. But no Two-Up that I know of. I like your point that it's not to glorify war but to say thanks to the ones who went to defend their country.

So important to remember and give thanks to those who have lived courageous lives. I love traditions and the legacy it leaves to our kids.
