Re: The full moon affects our Wiley too.

Please stop wearing a hole in my site Kabu. I'm going to tell you a secret hit your pots with a hammer. Put it down to frost damage and get some nice large one's as you say Wiley is disorientated by Hush that cruel moon that shines beneath a cloudless sky as the highway man comes riding, not very good for highway men. Anyway pots are quite cheap it's the compost that is expensive. I hope you have a good compost heap, or can you get rotted manure from reindeer owners. Try and get friendly with a strong man who will carry your pots and place them where you want them. I do mean not too friendly, but don't let Wiley lift them about

. Why am I telling you this you are the nurse.

Re: Shobana

A good job that rascal C.C. was not here Shobana. He would steal anything. But thank you any way for your time and uncritical comments.

I will tell you about empathy. Once I was walking down the street and I was the only person except for a woman pushing a pram. There was a child sitting upright about three years old probably and as I followed them the little child peeped around around his mother and looked at me. I was not directly behind them. Mischievously I rolled my eyes not for one moment thinking I would get a response. The little child's reaction was so funny he started laughing and pointing at me. His mother turned round and of course all she could see was a serious little man looking at the pavement, so I did it again,  only once, same response and crossed the road. Was that empathy? Or instinct. Or trying to get my face slapped.

Re: Sam

Hi Sam I don't think one is trying for perfection in this type of poem, it is only a bit of fun.

Honestly I have only ever read some of Dylan Thomas as I know basically I am not a perfectionist.I always felt that should I read modern poet's work I would begin to copy subconsciously any little juicy tit bit. I already steal little ideas, from some poems,on this site but not many. I will check up on your idea although I think you mean bouncing along and not banging to a halt and then bouncing along. I must be thinking of that Easter Bunny. Thanks Sam although I joke.

Re: E.E

B, gad Ma'am it's enough to crick a fellow's polo stick. That ruffian Corncrake was only my

groom and  a lance jack and he took the Guards to the right when they should have turned right. I absolutely refuse to acknowledge him especially as he swopped his can of Dr Pepper for my decanter of vintage Port. If only I could have been a Colonel that would have been impressive C.C.C.

These were outstanding! I was reading these a bit slower than I normally do and I discovered that you were very close to setting up iambic pentameter. It seemed to fall one stress short of perfection. I didn't check every line closely but if you are not working on it, it seems to be quite natural and I doubt it would take much of a rewite to get it to that point. And since you are fond of rhyme and if the iambic meter were perfected you would make Robert Frost quite happy for he believed that is the way a true poet should write! sam

CC - Major Corncrake had it all going for him with the poem until someone called him a baboon..lol. Cute. The 2nd poem is so melancholic..sad even. Thanks so much for your visit CC and your empathy.

I liked this ~ Ms "Wolfy" Dunn and Major Corncrake --- love the entitlements and also the poetic - howling going on for a serenade as such.  Heartache is bittersweet with your poetry written...

Your analogies are great as well as your romanticism in Judgement - sometimes a bashful and timid presence speaks more loudly from the 'heart' ~ I so enjoyed reading your poetry - G'day Major CC and I hope your cough is down to a whimper.  E.E.
