                I don't think poverty can be erased in Haiti, it's a way of life kept in place by the rich folks living high above in the hills, the common people below have never had anything 'except the crumbs from the rich men's tables' above.                     There is so much to think about in this wonderful post. I agree that 
                
                faith and education are the wonderful combination to a successful life ...not always a wealthy life but a well lived life productive as a member of society.

                I speak of the South because that is all I know of as a child. It is a total set of life values, we never felt like we had less than anybody, only because that was not our focus.

                I don't understand that comment, but I am here now.  My mom and dad weren't from the South (MO & OK) but they instilled those work values in us so I know what you mean.
