Here on this Townsville, Australia Saturday afternoon if we venture out we're squeezing the sky from our socks. It's been raining non-stop since last Sunday, the aftermath of tropical cyclone Olga. The weather guys got it right, but the degree of difficulty in forecasting it was minimal... Michael

I have noticed.
here in North Carolina, the local guys are usually more accurate. I find the Weather Channel to be too generalized. However, there are times when it seems that no one has a clue.

Our weather is more dependable here. Lately it's been raining a lot, foggy, and just plain dreary. The sun has shone a few times in the last 3 months. I can't wait till spring!

I am glad its not only here, because they are always wrong anyway. I dont get why people watch it every morning and prepare themselves for the day according to it.

Our town is like your Maryland weather-prediction-wise.
It often has prevailing winds that seem to shear it off from some other hunk of Ohio, possibly due to the hilly regions we are near. And, of course, all the factors that affect exactly where the sum total of air masses will land, precisely, are far too large to predict with great accuracy, sometimes.
