hahaha Naut...  I wasn't sure whether the reference (on ABC radio reports) to bootleg vodka was in addition to these figures or whether that was included.  Either way, since when has any self-respecting scotsman owned up to vodka in preference to whisky? .. or is this on top of whisky consumption???

My Mann would agree with that all heartily. We used to be part of the Scotch Whisky Society! LOL I can't stomach the thing (prefer Cognac or Brandy), so, you can imagine how much Scotch my Mann was drinking during the tasting! I had to drive! LOL

Nautikos - LOL, well I didn't know that scotch is synonymous with the Scots (should have by the name though) But I have a drink of vodka lime every now and then. Thank you for your visit and comment.

No wonder old Uncle James Bryce had an alcoholic bulbous red nose.

ahhh, good old Hamish McNutt...I knew some one would comment on

"where's the scotch?", so to speak...lol...

interesting how the only place "true" scotch can be made the way it should continues to be Scotland..I know they've tried it here (in the H.W. distilleries), but it just didn't work.....

Scotch
Nothing like a glass or ten of single malt.

That is a lot of alcohol. As someone who does not drink that is one thing I guess I'll never understand.

I'm with Hamish!

42 bottles of Vodka = almost one a week. Oh, my aching head.

BTW, June's fine. She's been trapped at home by the weather, but at the library today said she's making great progress on the story she's writing.
