What an endearing post Naut... and what a wonderful image ... you and your doggie walking along and pleasantly conversing with your neighbors... You are indeed a sweet guy :-)  and Jag sounds like a darling.  I wish  you two  many happy years together... xoxoxo

That's so funny to me that people actually ask the 'fixed' question...as if it's any of their business! Would we ask that to each other??? Sheesh, I tell ya!

Nuance of language, of course, not of practice.  Most owners have their dogs "fixed" or "seen to " so that they are more docile.  They are still boy-dogs or girl-dogs, lol..

Jag is very lucky, because living in Australia he would probably be, conventionaly, "de-sexed" by now.   Now there's a nuance for you...

Naut
Yes I like your dog already. He is responsible for your new found socialization. That is what the world needs more of ~~ chit chatting with the neighbors, the neighbor's dogs and how are the kitty cats taking to this. Your figure is getting a boost from this and I guess general good health as well... Very good and fairly inexpensive! U & Jag R  !

it is amazing how much dogs can do without doing anythign but being dogs
your description of how your dog affects  your life is charming to say the least. Enjoy your "intact" doggie and keep on writing about it :)

Dogs are great conversation starters. People love to ask about them, and the owners love to talk about them.

I love to see how having a great doggie can completely change a person's life.  Do you intend to eventually have a pack and be the leader of the pack.  Have you tried in-line skating with him pulling you along?  Tell us more.

Naut, I love Jag already from the other stories you have told about him, but I want more! No matter what humans say, dogs DO or DON'T have a sense of humor. My Bud doesn't (too macho), but the Grump puppy definitely does. And you are so right - canine owners (lovers) will immediately zoom in on you when they see you have a doggie. I guess it's the 'club' mentality, LOL! Liked your innuendo about Jag being a chick-magnet. (Do you know, when I did the spell check on this, when it hit 'Naut' it suggested 'Nut'. LMAO!)

I think it is the old adage with a twist 'if it ain't broke don't neuter it!' lol  If you read my poem for today, I promise you will really chuckle! Shelly
