Well? Did Ruby start and did you go and browse? Many thousands of years ago I drove a car called a Ruby - an Austin Ruby. The bankers will pat you on the back and tell you not to worry about such things as mortgages as they rub their greedy hands in glee.

Good for you, Pat B.. hope it works out this year. My mother struggles up and down her stairs too, but won't give in and sell the house, nor will she let anyone near the place to install a downstairs toilet she can use during the day.

Arriving late in the discussion, I wonder whether you have gone for it, as the majority have suggested that you should.
The times I've moved since my divorce over 20 years ago, I've always gone for places without bathtubs. I too have stiff joints and have always feared getting stuck in the bath and ending my days there totally undetected. There's the problem of cleaning the tub too; back-breaking and thankless task. I remember telling an estate agent about my preference for showers, as he was trying to sell me a place that he had had on his books too long, he even offered to to come and rescue me if I got stuck! I told him what to do with his offer.
It's good to dream, but be careful!
Thanks for your advice about copyright, Pat.

What can I possibly add to what's already been said? And Hack is absolutely right about that Japanese hot tub - I've been thinking about getting one myself...In any case, just
go for it!

My thoughts exactly.
I agree with TAPS, Pat. Also, what you need is a Japanese hot tub, that'll fix your knees.

Never stop dreaming, and never stop following up on your dreams. You deserve the perfect house for you. If you want it bad enough, you can do it. I love my shower, but I often wish I had my old claw-foot tub back. It was so, so, so comfortable.

Cool! If you like it, I'd go for it. Why not? You only live once...at least that we can remember. Hope it works out. I would NOT want to live without easy access to my bathtub!

I've noticed as years go by that problems do NOT get easier but tougher--what's up with that !!! What a surprise that was, as I thought the wiser, etc., I got with all the problems I'd already solved, the rest of my life would be a shoo-in. Not so. It is also true that we get wilier . . . more wily? . . . with old age and--treacherous? dangerous? Maybe we don't think so, or feel it, but our dimmer eyes sometimes catch a shorter-cut to where we need to go. Go look at that 'perfect' abode . . . I dare ya.
