I adore her honesty! What a dramatic change! Shelly

Re: Nautikos
Thanks Nautikos. No she spent all her energies on her school work and her friends were American.

Re: Nice teacher.
Yes, she must have been a really inspiring teacher: sensitive and very patient. I cannot remember her now, but she deserves a really big thank you.

Your daughter's diary is a pleasure! She writes very well! I wonder - did she pick up Italian as well?

From the teacher's comments I gather the teacher is/was a nice person. Just a hunch though.
It's really neat hearing "another voice" in your blog.

This is so interesting and well written. That little girl was very capable
of bringing a picture to life.

You have raised a very intelligent girl. Takes after her mum I think. Out of my 3 daughters and 3 step-daughters 4 of them are bilingual English/French, my 2 sons speak English only and are American now, and my step-son is bilingual. I loved your Bengali folk music and the young singer was strikingly beautiful. Lovely post

Very cute.
Betty your introduction enabled the reade - me - to soon visually 'see' your daughter in that environment. Excellent post. "School" from the point of view of a child.

I like the way kids think, and their forthright comments.
Sometimes I just come out with a thought that, had I considered the effect, might better have been kept to myself. But with kids, I feel right at home. This writing is so fresh and clear... I hope they never "educated" her away from it.

Betty, it's apparent that Ina inherited her communication skills and writing style from you, and was able to write so well even at a young age! Very interesting perspectives in a new place! Thanks too for the links that you painstakingly provide us with, and thanks for your visit. I look forward to a walk with you on the beach! I too go off for a walk (rather like an ostrich sometimes!!) when there are too many household chores, which do not agree with me!!
