I agree with kabu, mneme. But I was shaking my head at your desire to claim 'things'. When my Mother died, my elder sister moved into the house and claimed all the 'things' and had them shipped down to London from Edinburgh. Soon she had Alzheimers. Things are just things, mneme. All you need are some photographs and personal letters. I wish you the best of luck my friend.

Re: mneme
Wiley, thanks; to be honest, I believe it takes
more courage to be civil in this situation... my outlook is that we have to bless those who hurt us.. it's the only way if we want to practice peace. I've been reading R T Kendall's 'Total Forgiveness' on and off for quite some time, and it's true.. you lose by holding on to the hurt. Better to forgive, though you never quite forget; you just don't let it get to you. I'm a patient woman... just musing. Latest update is a
partial transfer of the settlement, the rest to follow very soon. -Just wait till I hit the shops, lol.
BTW, I've emailed my solicitor to write to him; there are time limits in place from the date of the decree absolute, which is obviously going to be in my best interests.

"You have my blessing, my sweet... only please, just let me go..."
Oh please!!!!!! Just take your God given courage in your hand and get MEAN for goodness sakes. This is a tough world out here, you have the ability to fight evil with evil and what most abused women can't do, is give BETTER HARSHNESS than you get.
No more blessings to an AH who is stealing your very soul and trying to make yoiu less than the human being God created. Stand up and fight kiddo.

It exudes control, but for me it exposes shallowness! I would fight to the bitter end for everything that was mine! sam

Re: 32 years he knows exactly what buttons to push to make you dance.
Kabu, thank you so much.. it's exactly what my solicitor said.. he's pushing buttons. I need to fly home very soon, before he gets the paperwork, and move the things he's agreed I can have - small pieces of furniture I particularly liked and which came from the UK home - before he gets the decree absolute from the court. I'm afraid I will never be able to trust him. I don't know why I ever thought he might change, one day. They just don't.

Fight him for what is yours whether the lawyers get it or not. fight him. He's abused you enough. I am sorry you are having to go through all this.
