Re: Johnmacnab... thinking ahead...

I started reading/researching thinking ahead with my third try, Johnny Mac... That's why I like NaNo -- I learned the "natural" way by trial & error.

You're welcome to anything on my blog you think might be useful.

Pat
I hope you don't mind, Pat, but I've printed this post off.   It sounds like a heck of a lot of work to me, and somewhat like a crime novel 'murder board.'   What intrigues me is the fact that you started so early and know who everybody is or was.  I think it's called thinking ahead, and it is something I should have done myself.

Re: Tzippy -- maps and nationalities and costumes, etc...

I think that's amazing! Just looking at these should be a major leg up on the project. It would be so useful to have all that on a wall near the computer...

I'm thinking you might create an organizational chart, maybe using circles, with the main character or leader of your good guys in the center, with lines spider-webbing out to circles to show connections to the others. There may be somethng like that in Word, under the graphics menu...  And a separate chart for the opponents.

I think this one is going to be your best, and I can't wait to read the finished product.  I remember when C_D posted that picture, and I remember you saying that you would like to write a book about it.  I just never dreamed you were so organized.  May I make a copy of this post and study it and maybe try out some of that kind of organization for myself?

another question abou the write

in my new venture I needed to create maps and nationalities and nations and costumes etc, I have huge maps with names of leaders and followers on my walls, any tips on organizing that sort of thing?

btw, I never found a ramp on a fast lane :)

this is great
I didnt even know how to ask the question that you answered, although it all sounds confusing and very difficult, it would help me complete a couple of projects begging for organization. Truly thanks for this post

However you end it, please let us know when it's out there and available. I've been waiting for your sequel. Thanks for the info about keeping track of your characters and their parts in the story!
