Thank you very much for your kind words. We are vessels for God to use. God uses people on earth to get his bidding done, I feel blessed in being able to go. God bless you.

Justi when I use the word, Minister, I mean it by:  one who cares for, tends to, nurtures, comforts and I find this as a gift ~  I realize you're not a minister but you do have a ministering heart.  I respect your husband and you for your dedication to and for the good.  Elyse

Its good to see people witness and minister to others. i agree not all people in jail are bad people.  There are many that are just there for stupid choices.  Many do belong there but in the cases you just mentioned these women just need help from other sources.

As babies we are all pure... blank slates on which life and those around us write our fate... Are there people in jail that are far better persons than  some of the ones who run the show? Probably... and it is sad that lady is ill and in there... but she has you  and I am sure that you are her angel... so she is luckier than most :-)

Re: Sam
What I was trying to say is that we forget they were real and had lives before they got caught up in the system! We neglect to see the humanistic side, just the offense. sam

Sam
Thank you so much for your comment I am not sure I understand what you are saying. Are you saying these people all had life as in another incarnation? It is sad for her to be so ill.

They are people and had a life before incarceration! How very sad for her to be so ill! sam

Justi - You are right in that not all of them are really bad, some there are purely driven by circumstances which gets them deeper and deeper into trouble. Its wonderful what your husband and you are doing for them.

You are so right. The government hand outs do not help the problem in any way unless it is supervised by those who want to do them good, helping them budget, become educated, get a job or a career and get on with their lives in a prosperous and directed manner. The politicians simply take from the very people who support them. We have the worst ones now ever!

You are so right they have lost their way. One thing is that it is a catch 22. They get in jail and can't pay their fines, can't drive, can't often work because of that fact and it becomes a vicious cycle. They lose their children, get divorced and it builds until they get help from people who don't mind giving them a hand up not a hand out. It is amazing how many just need to learn what to do the right way. Many of them have been drinking or drugging since early teen agers. This addiction knows no education, social or financial level it comes through all avenues.

Oh, we are not pastors, even though we are both ordained to be. We simply minister in a variety of outreaches in ways anyone could do: Nursing homes, recovery centers, jails; we teach and my husband plays worship music and has for fifteen years.

That is so true from jail, job loss, depression, going broke and even to death and much more along the way.

Everybody does not want to get something out of what they do for others. It is a little scary to think some people think that.

Thank you for reading and for your kind words. We don't feel that we do anything but show up in human form. i see people coming out from under wasted lives. We see truly fantastic changes in people who simply didn't know how to live their lives. We don't tell them how, just give them hope in being able to do so and direct them to the people who can help in the areas they want or need.

I fully agree with you that not everybody who tends to go somewhat awry or off-line are crminals. Politicians, on the other hand, are far too bigger criminals, and they always, invariably, seem to evade being jailed. A good write with a relevant message.

Poor women they seem to have lost their way but of course if the
police look the other way someone innocent may get hurt on the road. Oh dear. But they are so blessed to have you there for them.

Justi, you are so right ~ not all are hardened and have just hit some sort of bad choice making in their lives... I am touched that you and your husband minister - Elyse - May God always bless you

I dont how it works but we have a attorney who will get people out of jail and a bail bonds without a charge, but there has to be a catch somewhere, unless he is just a kind attorney

I do admire you and George for the work you're doing there! And as to your comment on my Tidbit post: yep, what's above the by line is fact, as always, but my comment is not, of course...
