Yes. Different issues.
You said you'd save time -- which is money, btw. I don't think the government would or could or would want to implement the cashless society. Automation gets you either way. I got socked with memberships by purchasing some facial treatments -- memberships I did not ask for. Suddenly all these fees started showing up on my credit card and it is the devil to get rid of these leeches....

FSI - I think we have made a major leap toward a cashless society. Of course it has it pro and cons  but eventually as with other innovations being created IMHO it will augur well with less headache. I believe in debit cards in lieu of credit cards so that you only spend what you have.

That would never appeal to me. I am strictly a "cash" person. a) because it's fast, b) because I keep strict control of my finances and can never overspend, c) because I always forget my PIN numbers.

The day may come for a cashless society but thieves will just operate differently methinks...

Interesting reflections. Actually, I am already a 'semi-cashless society of one', since I rarely carry cash beyond the few quarters in my car for parking meters...

Oh, that's intriguingly funny of a coincidence - yesterday I was going over my stuff (organizing my book shelves and my office), and I found this brochure/manual from the days of my working at a bank which is entitled, "Working towards a Cashless Society" (it was handed to us way before the financial crisis btw).

We've been headed in that direction for years, so it really wouldn't surprise me.  But, it would not impact me as it does you in your business.

After feeling the impact of losing everything on my computer I just don't know how I would feel about accounts at risk! it does make sense because it would prevent some crime! sam
