Hi Elinjo!
I can certainly understand why you were upset, i get that feeling when people equate Islam with terrorism and fundamentalism. I don't think there is such a thing as Muslims, Jews and Christians anymore in the sense that people who share one faith are divided in their personal views and interpretation of their religion and cultural identity. I often find it easier to have a conversation with Non-Muslims than my own "people". The conspiracy theories will never end, they are part of our modern culture, but it is one thing not to take things at face value but it is unacceptable to condemn a whole race, creed, or political affiliation with no exceptions.

Elinjo

As is so often the case, I come late to a Blogit flare-up (if that's what this is),  mainly because I really haven't been around much.

Though I had not been aware of Dave's post (I dislike poorly educated fools with intellectual pretensions), I completely support you in your complaint to Blogit.

You see, even though I am not Jewish, I am a Zionist! And my knowledge of history convinces me that the virus of irrational anti-Semitism, which has plagued the world for two millenia, must be met not only with offers of 'peace', but more importantly with firmness and resolve!

Re:
There are those  here spewing hate for Dave then trying to deride me for being 'racist'! That's hypocrisy! Grow up children!

Thank you everybody for your comments.
I'm going to drop the subject now. The Blogit staff can adjudicate if they think fit. Best wishes to you all.

elinjo

I have always believed that have an innate tendency to form our opinions, positive or negative, right or wrong, and stick to either. The world is changing, the perspectives are undergoing change, but things once ingrained in the mind do not, or for that matter, rarely ever see differently. I like to consider myself as an agnostic, because I feel this branch of thought or attitude is the most flexible of all to being either a theist or an atheist, both with formed opinions, one, with a 'yes', and the other, with a 'no', but neither have really bothered to know reality. I read that article by Soul and had commented that it was just the writer's (the one mentioned in the link) perspective and could not be generalized, otherwise, why it is a global phenomena where the Jews are not at all involved? So, I disagrred with the perceived connexion there. After reading his subsequent article, I felt it was still not all that aunthetic (my view). But this article of yours and the links provided have allowed me to think in the right perspective and thank you so much for taking pains in trying to bring about a balanced overview.

Given a choice I would ignore hate-mongers. Sooner rather than later they get what they deserve!

Fine line between hate-mongering and free speech isn't there?

Also between hate-mongering and mental illness. (Not to comment on the mentioned blogger's post as I have no intention of granting him a "hit").

I remember the week after the Sept 11 attacks, a local truck driver drove up in front of a temple, started screaming about how "you ragheads" were going to get there's and started throwing potted plants arojund and into their fountain from the shaded walkway in front.

When he was arrested shortly after it started, it was pointed out to him that, besides the unlikeliness of the folks ther being participants in suicide passenger jets, Sikh's were not Muslims.

What a moron.

Hey elinjo, I didn't read soul_builders' post nor the links to the articles but I understand where you come from and what you mean. I know there's a big debate and different opinions regarding the media and hollywood in the USA and other things concerning Jews, Zionists, and many other political and social dilemmas if you like. I am also a Muslim so I encounter a lot of such debates, such opinions, and such struggles and dilemmas. Anyways here (and now) is not the time nor the place to extensively delve into such a subject and to be frank with you I never read soul_builders' blogs nor am I planning to, but reading your opinion and your part of the argument (which is not totally fair to be fairly speaking) I don't blame you for posting a complaint and I understand where you come from. Also I wanna tell you that some people (or things) are just not worth stooping down to.

also I replied to your "curiosity" comment on my entry about my novel and I thought I'd tell you so you can read my reply

Kabu, thanks for your supportive comment and the information about Dave's state of health.  My protest was aimed at the article, link and the sick anti-Semitism it stands for. I admire your kind, generous and sympathetic spirit. Glad to see you back again!

I will start my comment with a big Hug. I so admire you as a person
and how true and loyal you remain to what you are passionate about. I count you dear one as a special person in my international group of blogit friends. Also; I really like Dave. He's got a great sense of humour.... and he writes some great health articles at times,he's also unwell so I pray for his inner peace every day so that the dark demons will leave him alone, will let his mind find rest. Not that I am comdeming your take on his posteither. Anti Semitism what a cop out that has always been for the worlds failures, blame it on the Jews. I always have and always will believe in the rights of minoity people and that there is goodand bad amongst all societies. I am sad when I see racism raise its ugly head here on blogit. I truly think that the voices spoke to Dave but you have the right to reject what he said, yes. God bless both of you.

Re:
Thanks for the big warm hug adnohr and the very kind words. I know that the vast majority of people deplore any kind of racialism. I go in for free speech too, but I agree with you that in some cases you have to draw the line. A big, warm hug to you too.

Dave and I have bumped heads a few time and I give him a bad time about the dark side, but what I read I didnt see it was racism, and I only read a small part of the article.  I dont talk relgion or politics because I dont know enough about either.  And because of those two subjects there has only been Blogit wars, which I try to stay out of.

What can be said about those who promote racism and hate? Unfortunately we can't just ignore them and hope they go away, as Hitler, and many other instigators for genocide have proven time and time again. I firmly believe in free speech, but not when the 'free'  becomes 'costly'. I applaud your reaction and the way you handled it. As you surely know, we are not all like that. Just in case you doubt it, I'm sending you a big, warm hug!!

I read that blogger once.
Left a nasty taste in my mind. His attitude goes beyond intolerance, gets right into hate thought. I don't have time for such air-wasters.

Good for you! I do not respect him whatsoever! And so proud of you for letting him know what you have done! I don't read him at all because of the very thing you cited, taking articles on the net and rearranging them for his sensationalism! Have a great day! I support Israel and I will to the day I die!
