From the way things look Obama is losing face with the American people.
As far as the climate summit goes I still think he should do it as planned.

Elinjo - Well..I don't know. I kinda like Obama but these days he seems to get into quite a bit of adverse publicity. I hope the summit goes on as scheduled though.

I don't think the Climate Summit should be postponed. Even a small step taken in crisis management is well worth it!

I wouldn't be the President for anything in the world.
His face is definitely looking more worn and harried whether he's lost it or not.

Generally speaking people here trust him too and we were delighted when he became president.

Re. Hot air.
President Obama has a lot on his plate and we tend to have very unrealistic(?) expectations that he will be able to solve not only problems in the U.S.A. but elsewhere: climate, the Israeli/Palestinian conflict etc, etc.
I do hope that he is successful in promoting a health deal that will satisfy as many people as possible. Hopefully the congress will be both constructive and successful.
Yes, the article was outspoken perhaps to the point of being provocative.

Obama
The President has a great deal on his proverbial plate. The Health Insurance debacle is something that should be cleared up as quickly as possible. I agree with Obama's plan and it frustrates me that so many Americans are afraid of a new idea. Each President that takes office, invariably has to deal with this problem and one wonders whether the United States will ever have a healthy health care plan. As for the global warming problem; I think President Obama should get over to Denmark soon and give his views. The problem in the world, is there seems to be too much talk and not enough action. I'm for stopping the meetings, like G20 and other money wasting conferences and doing something about the climate changes plaguing the planet. Let's do it and and do it now. Great post, Betty.

President Obama has put in major effort and time on his health care agenda and if he left it unfinished he would not be able to concentrate and make pledges in another area! I think Americans care about climate, that was a poor generalized statement ion the article! Whenever a President is giving attention to those who seek it, he is a good man, but when those who do not get his attention in a hurried manner usually go excuse oriented or something like losing face! But, he is only one person and so many want his attention too frequently! Shelly

Speaking of hot air, there's been a lot of it among those who,
for one reason or another, oppose Mr. Obama's health care reform. It seems to me to be rooted in sour grapes -- these are mostly extreme conservatives whose political party lost big in the last election. They are organizing "tea parties," screaming nonsense about the president's citizenship, stirring a big pot of crazy, and following the lead of certain misguided political commentators on Fox News. The weird thing is the legislation isn't even written, it's still in congressional committees being negotiated and amended. As for Mr. Obama's losing face, to me it's still refreshing to have a President who can read the world map, an articulate, educated individual who speaks in complete sentences and grew up as an ordinary person. I trust him.
