Go to CONSERVATISM -- A DINOSAUR THAT SHOULD BE EXTINCTAdd a commentGo to CONSERVATIVES WON'T BE SATISFIED UNTIL ALL OPPOSITION IS EXTERMINATED

I agree with the premiss of your post.
Fortunately for the rest of us, we're beginning to see some chinks in the united front armor of right wing conservatives.  Joe Wilson offended the sensibility of what is right and proper when our President addresses Congress.  He has become a hero to the hard right wingers, but a double-talking embarrassment to more moderate Republicans.  Then there is the growing discomfit with radical rabble rousers like Glenn Beck whose huge 9-12 rally was expected to draw anywhere from hundreds of thousands to upwards of a million disgruntled conservative participants.  But according to D. C. Fire Department estimates only 60,000 to 70,000 actually showed up.  It appears that the powerful Mr. Beck is not nearly as powerful and persuasive as he and his adoring followers had thought.  Facts are not likely to stop the spewing of hate and lies from GB's lips.  But they do call into question the size and impact of his army of disciples.

CONSERVATIVES WON'T BE SATISFIED

Don't just blame conservatives.  Look behind the motives and intentions of all -- the accumulation of powers and control as a goal.  All -- to degrees -- are the same, right or left or independent.

All opposition can't be exterminated.  It's akin to trying to combine matter with anti-matter.  Opposition is critical; jingoism is not.  And still not enough folks are taking the matter seriously enough -- but there are signs of a stirring beneath the covers.

Question is:  Do we continue to fight among ourselves to the detriment of everyone?  Clear thinking goes down the toilet every time.

Ah well . . .                         joab

Universal in politics worldwide, sadly. It's a dirty business.
