Re: Best of Luck to you both Elinjo! Lindo.
'A piece of one's liver' is a very good way of putting it Lindo; I'll have to remember that very wise saying. An examiner's duty is to be super-critical and he was; but she parried all his difficult questions. Thank you for taking an interest. Here's wishing you all the best.

Re: Shelly
Thanks Shelly for checking this out and praying for her success. She faced up to the ordeal and conquered it. Yes, it is an explosive topic. Because 'experts' have defined religiosity and she went out and talked to ordinary people from many walks of life and asked them about their thoughts and feelings about God, religious practice, the after life and so on. In Denmark people are generally reticent when it comes to talking about religion, so that in itself was challenging.

I have a feeling that it will go great.  I read the link rather quickly because my time is short today, but I intend to read it again when my mind is not so full of plans for the day.

Betty, I absolutely agree with Shelly! I'm sure all will be fine today!

She has taken on an explosive topic! I liked how she stuck to five areas, even though novel, I felt they were concrete enough to give a good basis for her to defend her thesis where she could draw from experience and text work! I liked the approach very much! I am convinced that she will do quite well! Shelly (a little prayer helps, too so I have done that)

Best of Luck to you both Elinjo!
You are right about lie being a long hurdle race, and it is tough on spectators as it is on the runners themselves. There is an Arab saying (a line from a poem): Our children are our livers walking on Earth. It sounds weird I know but "A piece of one's liver" is a classic way of referring to one's children and I guess it explains the permanent knot in your stomach as a mom as you watch your children tackle life's hurdles one at a time, whether it is their first day at school or their defense of a Ph.D thesis.

I hope that this day is the one that sees you dreams come true. Will check on you later to say how your daughter did. Take care
