Living in (well, very close to) Toronto one takes diversity for granted - this is one of the world's most diverse cities. And it's a good thing - for the most part, although it would be naive to assume there are no problems...

Re:
That will be a very interesting encounter.

A couple of years ago I met a young French man who was on his way to Mongolia on foot! I'll have to tell you all that story another day.

I love the picture!  I'm a big promoter of cultural diversity.  As is my older son whose new college roommate is from Mongolia!!  We'll meet him when Ben brings him home in October.....Mal

One of the things I miss, here in Mundane
in the flat Midwestern portion of the Bible belt, is cultural diversity. We might as well wear tattoos on our foreheads that say "Resistant to change."

Elinjo - This is so beautiful. I really admire the way you get involved in community projects. My daughter left for Cuba in the wee hours yesterday..She will only reach there tomorrow (Monday here). Did you like the Cuban cakes?? The Pakistanis look stunning in their colorful costumes. Thanks so much for the hug..I really needed it. I'm just missing her already!
