From what you're providing it doesn't sound like it's support Communism, just a language people use to communicate.

I agree with Kabu, Elinjo. I have been often to Cuba, and find that the people are warm and positive. I believe, for the most part, they leave the politics to the politicians, as do alot of ordinary citizens in any other country. I would stake my chances that it is for pure sharing, one group to another, no communism attached.

This is a very interesting idea, a universal language !!!  I am looking forward to find out about the results of the conference.

This is really interesting. Apart from knowing that it's a universal language, I know nothing about Esperanto. Your post is fascinating.

Elinjo

I thought the email was a beautiful invitation for friendship and collective thinking.

I think it would be exciting if it developed into a lasting friendship! For me, people are relatively the same and share like aspirations! Shelly

Re: I am sure he is reaching out in friendship to people with a common
Yes, ordinary people like us have to break the ice and make friends across borders. Thanks for your support Kabu.

interesting controversy amongst members.  I looked up what you sent me, thanks but the problem with that is they haven't changed the rate on that question.

I am sure he is reaching out in friendship to people with a common
interest. I believe that this sort of grass roots international communication is where peace between nations has a chance to succeed. Getting to know each other and realizing that we have common goals and feelings is better than fighting over religion or politics. Good for you.

He has expressed it well. Hope you're doing well. Nita.

Shobana
If you mean Esperanto, nowhere near. Nobody is able to give an accurate estimate of the number of speakers. The following does not even mention the language, but makes for an interesting comparison between languages.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_languages_by_number_of_native_speakers Thanks for visiting.

Elinjo - interesting..isn't it the 2nd most used language in the world or is it mandarin., I'm not sure. I suppose that there is a need to promote each other's culture and language.
