Joke telling is neither easy nor difficult. It depends how you capture the audience's attention

That's why I stick to writing and leave the jokes for the comedians of the BN. I have only one blog in humor, and that's too many.

Thanks, we seem to have a couple of things in common.  Different spin is what I've been trying.  Most of my success has come with self-deprecatory humor.  I just want to find out if I have, or can develop, other ways of making people laugh (or at least smile a little bit).  I appreciate the advice and the encouragement.

Not to worry, ladies, like the suitor that won't go away, I don't give up easily.  I'll just try a different approach and see what happens.  And I sure am glad it was a typo (hard-on) 'cause I sure didn't want to think I had you lovely ladies figured wrong.

Notapoet, there are those much funnier in print than in person, and

of course a lot of comedians can't write all that well. Most people who meet me, for example, think of me as the professior, the how you say, intellectual.  Actually, in college I was the humor columnist for the paper for three years, and always though I could write humor much better than I could relate it in person. There's also the problem of finding your own particular calling. I think my humor is of the abstract, ironic, somewhat abrasive kind, and that is more of my true self. It doesn't hurt to rewrite something you think is funny.  Put your own spin on it. take care.

                    but what if...

we do think we're funny, cuz people (in real life) tell us so. Then we come here and we don't get all the love
we deserve? Now that's a hard on...oops a hard one. lol. Don't ever give up sweetie!
