There's certainly a difference! The kind gentleman that looked after me in Odessa in 2006 was a retired university lecturer who had lectured on Russian and Ukrainian language. He was certainly very proud and conscious of the differences between the two. Thanks for visiting Pat and have a nice day.

There was a guy named Uri who worked at the community college
in Seattle. He could fix anything, big guy, looked like he could lift a tractor. His English became more polished and certain as time went on, but he still had that Russian accent. One day I asked him if he was Russian. Nyet!  Not Russian. Do not say so.  Ukranian! And so I learned something.
