That is really cool, never thought that there would be as many statues of it.

Re: I've seen Little Mermaid in a place in India too!
Really? I promise not to tell anybody about it over here!
It could be an expensive business for them.

Re:
You are not the only one! Before I moved to Copenhagen in the early 70s I thought the 'Little Mermaid' was about as big as your Statue of Liberty! She's fully naked unless you consider her scales as clothing. I always take visitors to see her and without fail they tell me that she is so tiny....LOL

I was in Copenhagen a few years ago and was so surprised by the small size of the Little Mermaid statue. And the fact that she's half-naked. The Disney machine would never have stood for her nakedness and the sad ending of HCA's original tale! Mal

Re:
Sad story isn't it? But then Hans Christian Andersen had rather a sad life. Thanks for visiting Shelly!

I never knew there was a controversial ending to the 'Little Mermaid'! How different, especially when it spelled doom but sort of retracted but in a way with intent to the original thought! Wold, I say! And what a beautiful sculpture, too! Shelly
