In your northern latitudes the long days of summer must be especially welcome, to make up for the long nights of winter...
Our long days are not quite as long. Although Canada is very much a 'northern' country, here in southern Ontario we are as far south as northern Italy and northern California...

Re: Gapcohen and Norwood.
Interesting association. Elsinore of Hamlet fame is on the coast and no doubt this evening there'll be lots of bonfires on the nearby beaches. Thank you for visiting my blog and leaving your kind comments.

4:26 am, now that's...early. It would be great fun to attend a bonfire celebration like this. Long days, more sunshine, love it.

Pretty interesting rituals there.
In reference to your daughter time flies as they say.

Since reunification in Germany, I have visited the Brocken in the Harz which is famous for its witches. They ride therirbrooms at the same time as the festival in Denmark. Thanks for this wonderful post and your lovely comment on mine.

Today is the longest day of the year here! I love days of long light! It seems so much more comforting than the early darkness of winter! But alas, they start to get shorter tomorrow! Have a wonderful evening, too! Shelly

Still have everyone in my prayers.

Ahh, yes, midsummer – although there may not be a festival going on in my part of the world it’s a wonderful time of year; everything in bloom, days as long as they can be, and everyone just seems to have a lighter heart (although I suspect yours must feel quite heavy given the battle your X is going though). ~ Blessings to you and your family.

Re:
When Ashish and you hopefully make it to Denmark let it be in June - it's the best month of the year! I'll be in touch soon. Thanks for the support.

Happy Sankt Hans! It sounds rather Shakespearian. Mal

Betty, this is so interesting and informative! I found a few other snippets about this day, but nothing as interesting as this. Thanks for giving us glimpses of Denmark, which I'm able to send to Ashish!
