are moderate Muslims with whom debate is possible. One would just hope there are significant numbers of Muslims willing to learn Hebrew...

That is the feeling in Israel be drech lal though
The Israeli side is always looking for ways to make peace and it is often the other side that has the war weapons and the war mentality. You only have to look at the cartoons and kids programs on some of the Palestinian tv stations. I am not sorry but proud to say that there have been many peaceful Jewish initiatives for peace and yes well ....we are tired of war. G-d willing there will be peace one day.

That sounds like a really positive initiative.
On my next trip to Israel in October apart from visiting relatives in Karmiel, I will be taking part in Esperanto weekend in a village halfway between Jerusalem and Tel Avi. The village called in English Oasis of Peace is unusual in the sense that both Arab and Jewish families live there peacefully. Here is the link to their homepage.
