Thanks for the advice! I have been keeping on top of the wound since I have had one get massively infected from this same cat.
But I did clean this one with astrigent and with alcohol as soon as it happened. And yesterday, I peeled off the scab, let it bleed a while (since bleeding is the body's natural way of getting rid of infection), and re-cleaned it with alcohol and astrigent.
I do check it daily in the mirror to see if there is any pus or redness in and about the wound. It does seem to be doing well healing itself.

Keep on top of that wound
If it gets worse, or doesn't get better in two days or so, see your MD.
